Dr. Kate was born and raised in the small town of Marengo, IL and grew up being surrounded by Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks fans. She was told from a very young age that she could become anything she wanted, so she knew she wanted to become a doctor…of animals. For a very long period of her life, Dr. Kate wanted to be a veterinarian because of her love of animals. Although her career path may have changed throughout the years, her love for helping others and making a difference is someone’s life has never left.
It was not until Dr. Kate graduated in 2012 from Northern Illinois University that she pursued her passion of leading a natural-based lifestyle and attended chiropractic school. Growing up, her family lived the way many families do, their go-to dinner was hotdogs and macaroni and cheese. Dr. Kate and her sister were taken to the doctor with even the slightest sniffle and scratchy throat to be given a prescription. As she got older, she learned the power the body has to heal itself, later finding out that this innate, inborn quality of the body is what chiropractic care is based on; chiropractors do not make you instantly feel better, they make you instantly heal better. In a way, Dr. Kate did not find chiropractic, chiropractic found her!
Dr. Kate attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and graduated as valedictorian of her class in 2017. Originally, her passion was focused on sports care, but when her niece was born, she shifted her focus to caring for children and their families. Dr. Kate’s goal is to provide the opportunity for her patients to reach their optimal level of health, no matter what stage of life they happen to be in. She does this by utilizing a variety of techniques which include diversified, gonstead, thompson, activator, and logan basic. Her mission is to provide her patients with the highest quality healthcare in a warm and friendly environment.
Outside of the office, she loves to spend time with her family, dog and baby niece, cook, bake, be outdoors and stay active by running, swimming, and playing tennis. Kate and her fiancé, Cevin, have been planning a wedding and are getting married later this year. Even though they do not have human children, they are the parents to their nine-year-old son, Sammy, a very loving and playful Bichon Frise.
“Becoming a team member of Balanced Care Chiropractic has been a dream come true for me! Not only am I able to follow my life’s passion, but I am so excited to care for the growing families in the surrounding area.”
